French 19th century Belle Epoque Period Linke style desk/table

About the Item

An exquisite and high quality French 19th century Belle Epoque Period Louis XVI st. Mahogany, Tulipwood and Ormolu side table/desk, in the style of Francois Linke. This stunning table is raised by fluted tapered cylindrical legs decorated with topie shaped Ormolu sabots, foliate capitals and berried acorn chandelles. Above each leg are wonderfully executed pierced Ormolu mounts with lovely scrolled Rinceau shaped foliate designs flanking the front single drawer centered by an Ormolu winged quiver design surrounded by Rinceau and foliate scrolling. Above is a stunning Tulipwood diamond marquetry inlaid top with rounded corners and framed within a fine mottled Ormolu band. François Linke (1855-1946) Renowned 19th Century Parisian Ébéniste. Linke created historical interpretations of Louis XV and Louis XVI styles. He displayed at the Paris Universal Exhibition of 1900 where he received a gold medal.
