French 19th Century Leather Top Louis XV Style Writing Desk or Bureau Plat

About the Item

French writing desk beautifully finished in walnut, leather and inlaid burlwood veneer, is a fantastic piece of 19th century French design in the Louis XV style. The bureau plat is set on four cabriole legs, each mounted with gilt bronze ornamentation on the bottom, and classical pediments with acanthus leaf motifs at the top. On the front side there are three drawers and the original key. The table is topped with rich leather and mounted around its rim with a chic embossed plain frame.
