French 19th century Napoleon III Period Fruitwood and Ormolu desk

About the Item

A magnificent and high quality French 19th century Napoleon III Period Regence st. Ebonized Fruitwood, Leather and Ormolu Boulle desk. This stunning three drawer desk is raised by four cabriole legs with stunning wrap around Ormolu hoof sabots with a fine acanthus leaf, inlaid Brass filets and richly chased Ormolu female mask corner mounts. The scalloped apron is decorated with inlaid Brass filets outlining each drawer, adorned with foliate Ormolu handles and keyhole escutcheons. The side aprons are decorated with richly chased female masks framed by the same Brass filets. Above is the burgundy colored Gilt tooled leather top with an Ormolu wrapped edge.
