French Boulle Bureau Plat / Library Table, Late 18th Century
About the Item
Exceptional French Boulle bureau plat has the English feel of a library table with the four rams head mounted bronze fluted legs terminating in a bronze caster stylized as a beehive. The Boulle marquetry writing desk is finished on both sides with three drawers on the front and faux drawers on the back, which makes the desk look like a partners desk. The desks writing surface has a tooled black leather framed by a bronze molded border. The desk decorated on all sides with Boulle Marquetry made out of bronze and tortoise shell with bronze male mask in the centers.
