Paul Goldman 1940s Art Deco Rosewood Veneer Desk

About

This Art Deco-style desk was designed by Paul Goldman in 1946 for Plymodern Furniture. Goldman was renowned for his use of bent plywood. The process of Plymold allowed for the beautiful curves of this Tanker-like desk to be formed. The bentwood is finished with a rich, smooth rosewood veneer. The desk's rounded edges create unbroken lines. There are eight small drawers and a one central long drawer which are flushed into the frame when closed. Rectangular plinth bases support the desk, creating a slight, elegant suspension. The measurements for the sitter's leg room are 21 inches in width (between the columns of small drawers) and 24.25 inches in height.
