About the Item

Swedish early 20th century carved birch pedestal desk circa 1900. Elegant Scandinavian pedestal desk comprising of 3 sections. Slightly over-sailing writing surface with 3 drawers below, including the main drawer over the knee, each fitted with copper handles. Each pedestal decorated with 2 barley twist columns which contain the door in-between. Right hand pedestal is fitted with 3 pine drawer slides. Left hand side fitted with a single fixed shelf. All raised on a plinth base with ebonised ball feet. Generous knee height for comfortable working. Rich golden colour. Minor restoration to age splits to top surface, minor area of green staining below the polish. Fully restored and hand polished in our workshop, ready for everyday use. Knee height: 25 1/4" Knee width: 20 1/4"
