1960s Stag Furniture Oval Extending Dining Table and 8 S230 Dining Chairs

About the Item

1960s midcentury 'S' range teak oval extending dining table designed by husband and wife team, John & Sylvia Reid, for Stag Furniture which also includes eight original model S230 dining chairs. The table and chairs have been professionally restored, re-polished and waxed and the seats have been newly reupholstered in a black vinyl, with piped edges, which is similar to the way they were originally designed. The table has a single leaf which will requiring storing when not in use. The eight S230 dining chairs were designed with a gently curved sculpted ergonomic back which is made from African walnut. Simple, comfortable and functional which makes the table suitable for both a dining room or kitchen/diner situation. The thick seat pad is contoured to suit the design of the chair and for added comfort. The chairs feature swivel feet to help with stability on any floor surface. Sadly on two chairs the feet have been replaced with stoppers because they must have either come loose and gone missing or have been damaged. The other six are all fine. The nickel-plated steel legs which also match those on the table have been carefully hand polished and cleaned. Due to their age and past use the table and chair legs have some surface rust in places as shown in the images but this is barely noticeable unless closely scrutinised. I love this design that I've had this set in my own kitchen/living room for a number of years but decided to sell them recently. Dimensions: Table: H 70 cm, W 102 cm, D 100 cm, W 144 cm wide when extended Chairs: H 79 cm, W 43 cm, D 45 cm, SH 48 cm, SD 40 cm.
