French Art Deco Rosewood Dining Suite Eight Gondola Chairs

About the Item

Lush, modernist dining table, gondola chairs and big, beautiful buffet make up this dining suite made in France in the 1930s. Crafted of finest rosewood and finished in gleaming French polish, this grouping will transform your home into the perfect setting for “dinner for eight” in the manner of the Classic movie! The table is sleek, long enough for six with comfortable spacing and with two matching “inserts” that instantly convert this to a table for eight. The base of the table is stylized and grand. The eight chairs are graceful, in the “gondola” style that curves around the back to beckon you to become better ensconced in your seat. Nice green velvet upholstery covers the cushions which are easily removed should you want to re-do them in any other fabric but we are certain you will like them just as they are! The matching buffet is so spectacular. Wide and spacious, with streamlined, scalloped curves on the outside and fabulous storage space inside with eight shelves to house your china and glassware and built in drawers for silverware. Ah yes, the glamorous good life of Fine dining….but we know the secret many of us keep! That table becomes your desk during the day while you telecommute, the shelving as likely to hold your printer or music and video components and the buffet may form the base for your wide screen T.V. We don’t mind if that is your reality… just be sure to rent a copy of Jean Harlow in “Dinner at eight” to play on that big, wide video screen! Measurements: Table: 70″ wide, 36″ deep 28.5″ tall the base is 93.5 ” at the widest point. Chairs are 32″ tall, 19.5″ wide and 18.5″ off the ground with a depth of 17.75″ front to back of seat. Buffet is 92″ wide, 21″ deep, 39 ” tall. Interior side shelves are 18″ wide and 18.25″ deep, center shelves are 40″ wide and 18″ deep.
