18th Spanish tresle Table

About the Item

Exquisite Spanish trestle table from Spain, in Walnut wood, with wrought iron fasteners and beautifully patinaed top . Baroque style lira leg table, entirely made of walnut, with carved profile legs and a top with a smooth profile. The legs have a mixtilíneo cut, we see the legs combine simple curves, edges and steps, creating shapes that are both regular and symmetrical in the Baroque classicism. The legs are attached to the board through curved iron fasteners, typical of this typology. The fact that the top has a smooth edge, explains that the tables were dressed in most of the time in silk fabrics, but in the less wealthy houses, which could not afford to dress luxuriously the tables, the decoration were focused on the legs. the table is very stable and strong, the iron work absolutely stunning.
