19th Century French Pine Tilt Top Vendange Dining Table

About the Item

Rustic 19th century tilt-top wine tasting vendange dining table made on a large scale. The table features a thick top constructed from thick pine boards having rounded ends. The top is supported by a trestle base with a tilt-top mechanism. The legs are crafted of thick square columns ending with wide shoe feet. The wood has a desirable weathered patina on the finish full of character and charm to commensurate its age and use. The tilt top functions properly and the table is sturdy and strong. The country farmhouse aesthetic is further enhanced by the aged patina and wear. From a large winery in the Napa Valley, CA.

Substantial 19th century country French provincial farmhouse dining table hand-crafted from solid oak. The table features a monumental 2 inch thick top with breadboard ends. The top is supported by a trestle base having thick, chunky turned legs conjoined by H-shaped stretchers and ending with bun feet. Constructed with mostly wood peg joinery each end has a 10" inch overhang for diners and ample leg room measuring 23.5 inches from the floor to the apron. The rare large size is made in a monastery or refectory style. Very heavy and solid with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The table top showcases the distinctive woodgrains and has a desirable aged patina on the oak with age cracks and gaps to commensurate its age and use.
