19th-century French Provincial Trestle Table. Very sturdy, made of richly patinated oak with an unusually thick top. Interesting base with nicely turned legs and very nice proportions. Made in Brittany circa 1870. A robust and warmly patinated 19th-century French Provincial trestle table, handcrafted in solid oak and originating from Brittany, France, circa 1870. This handsome table features a thick, richly grained rectangular plank top with a subtly uneven edge that speaks to its hand-hewn character and age. The base is supported by a pair of boldly turned baluster legs joined by a box stretcher and terminates in graceful scrolled trestle feet, lending both stability and sculptural elegance. This table maintains a desirable, timeworn texture and mellow tone from the oak. Perfect for a statement dining table or rustic work surface, it comfortably seats four to six people.
