20th century Rustic Warm Brown Reclaimed Oak Trestle Base Dining Table

About the Item

This rustic, warm brown dining table was crafted from centuries-old reclaimed oak. The table was made around 1960 in Veldhoven, the Netherlands, by the renowned company Piet Rombouts and Sons. They were known for their collection of antique furniture and custom-made oak pieces inspired by historical designs, made from ancient oak. The wood used came from German half-timbered houses, where the beams had been exposed to the elements for hundreds of years. The table has a sturdy appearance, with a thick solid top measuring 2.75 inches and heavy, straight legs. The legs are attached to the top using a mortise and tenon joint, which is visible on the tabletop. The legs are connected at the bottom by a stretcher with carved ends. The space between the legs is 62.20 inches, and the height of the table is 30.71 inches. The table has a warm brown color with a beautiful sheen. Due to the weathered oak used, the table shows a lovely patina with many signs of wear. The table was lacquered and finished with beeswax. In our workshop, the table was carefully cleaned, and a fresh protective wax layer was applied. The table is clean, sturdy, and ready for use.
