Adolfo Genovese Elliptical Oval Walnut Dining Table
About the Item
Absolutely breathtaking Iearly 1950's talian modernist walnut dining table with a gloss finished elliptical oval top on a satin finished single pedestal with four curved tapering outstretched legs around a brass hoop and having brass sabots and ball feet which ingeniously are adjustable levelers.
The table is 29 inches high and 45 inches wide in the middle.
Length is 84 inches long closed and 106 inches long when fully expanded with the single 22 inch leaf which comes in its own wooden case..
Designed and handcrafted in the 1950s by Adolfo Genovese of F & G Hand Made Furniture of Cambridge, Mass. F & G, which was owned by father and son, Adolfo and Edward Genovese, operated from the late 1940's through the mid-1970s and created exceptionally well built "old-school" bespoke furniture for Gerte, Charak, the White House and private commissions, in many styles, never yielding their high standards for the sake of cost or expediency.
