Aino Aalto Extendable Table In Teak, Artek 1930s
About the Item
Aino Aalto extendable table with a teak top and birch legs. Designed by Aalto and manufactured by Artek in the 1930s. The table is 95cm long but has an opening with two separate 20cm long extensions which can make the table either 115cm or 135cm long.
Architect Aino Aalto( 1894-1949) was the great unknown factor behind her internationally renowned husband Alvar Aalto. As a designer, Aino is primarily known for her work in glass. However, her work ranged from architecture to photography and various areas of applied art and design. She also designed quite a few furniture peaces.
