Amsterdamse School Oval Solid Dining Table by Jac Van den Bosch, 't Binnenhuis

About the Item

Very rare dining room table in solid wood sleek and sober designed by Jac Van den Bosch for 't Binnenhuis Amsterdamse School, 1909. The furniture is signed with a branding stamp of 't Binnenhuis, Amsterdam. In our collection the complete living room set with Dressoir Opus 880 and oval dining table with 6 chairs, all signed. Jac Van den Bosch was one of the founders and initially deputy director of a company and studio for interior design, 't Binnenhuis, together with H.P. Berlage. An ideological concept, well designed, functional and sober but with attention to design and functionality. It also had to be affordable for citizens. Because the pursuit of quality and durability did not match the price/quality ratio, the products soon became more expensive than ideologically intended.
