Antique 19th Century French "Table De Fromage" Cheese Making Refectory Table

We are delighted to offer for sale this super rare and very important original circa 1800 Chinese Chinoiserie refectory dining table. This table was owned by the wife of the Admiral who ran the naval base in Davenport in the south of England, it was sold at an estate sale maybe 5-6 years ago, since then it has resided in my care whilst I decide what to do with it It is a truly sublime and very important piece, I have never seen another of its type and in searching the internet can't find any other examples. The table is circa 1800 and in what looks to be oak or elm, it's hard to see as it's almost entirely covered. Early 19th century English Oak refectory table with moulded edge and earlier 18th century elements to the table base. Heavy triple plank top over decorative hand-carved stiff leaf frieze and four turned balusters legs united by a box stretcher. The table was notably restored around 1920 by Foster, Cooper and Foster Ltd. of 63-64, Long Row Nottingham for Mrs. Alice Bartram of Bramcote Hall. Mrs. Alice Bartram was married to the son of Rev. Canon Bartram of Canterbury who was also the rural dean of Dover, Kent. Foster, Cooper and Foster. Ltd. original attribution labels to both table top and base. Provenance Winchester Cathedral...
