About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning fully restored circa 1820 George II flamed mahogany extending dining table A very well made and decorative table, this is one of the finest quality examples you will see anywhere, it is made of solid mahogany, most likely Cuban or Honduras, these timbers were being imported by all the finest cabinet makers of the day like Gillows etc Its large enough to use as a 12 person dining table fully extended, you could actually seat 14 if you placed two people at either end, it's a very deep table so this could be managed just fine, compacted it's a good 8 seater The table as mentioned has been fully restored, the timber has all been washed back, then traditionally French polished from the ground up, the result is a perfect period example Dimensions Height:- 74.5cm Width:- 177.5cm extending to 292.5cm Depth:- 132.5cm Under leg height:- 64cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Pulborough warehouses RH20 1DF. Royal House Antiques is a privately owned family ran business founded in Wimbledon SW19 and now based in Pulborough RH20. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
