About the Item

A circular rosewood dining table by Carlo di Carlo, with a distinctive stepped pedestal formed from concentric slices of the same material. Accented by a band of brass around the base, it’s a structured silhouette typical of the designer. ‘A chair, an armchair or a table must be elements in which one can feel an individual presence,’ said Italian titan de Carli (1910-1999) who underscored his many furniture designs with an architectural rigour and curiosity of form. He worked with many of the era’s leading manufacturers, and in 1954 won the inaugural Compasso d’Oro for his Model 683 dining chair for Cassina. The table has been restored and is in good condition with no chips.
