About the Item

‘Cutting Corners’ is a limited collection of marble furnishings & lights designed to celebrate curvaceousness in slender shapes. All pieces are carved by master craftsmen, inviting the user to a sensory experience. The collection consists of a coffee-table, a dining table, side tables and a translucent wall-light, bringing together the timelessness of marble with the warmth of wood and bronze. ________________________________________ What makes it unique: ‘Cutting Corners’ dining table uniqueness lies in its sculptural integrity: clean, flowing geometries soften the marble’s natural weight, giving each piece a surprising sense of lightness. A table crafted by hand, every curve is carved and refined by our in-house marble artisans, who sculpt the material with the same mastery for centuries. The combination of marble and wood have become a power couple in contemporary interiors by making a dynamic duo. Contrast in material qualities, when combined together wood softens marble’s severity, while marble elevates wood’s casual warmth. Balancing the warm and cool via a dialogue. Wood brings earthy, warm hues that prevent a space from feeling sterile. Marble introduces a cooler tone that balances those earthy notes. This push–pull creates visual harmony that feels modern but still human. Timeless meets contemporary. Marble carries associations with classical architecture, nobility, and art. Wood grounds it in something timeless and familiar, but also more “everyday”. Together, they allow a space to feel both rooted in tradition and comfortably contemporary. Humans naturally crave balance between nature and structure. Wood connects us to nature, while marble feels structured, strong, and enduring. Used together, they speak both to our emotional need for warmth and our aesthetic desire for elegance. ________________________________________ Visualizing it in your space: ‘Cutting Corners’ is a travertine & wood dining table, designed to celebrate curvaceousness while maintaining the minimum possible footprint. It consists of an oval surface in oak supported by two thin but sculptural legs, which take up a different silhouette from each angle. Thin and sculptural, the legs come out to the horizontal plane to reveal their design: simple and geometric forms combined into a voluptuous base. The collection includes a coffee table, dining table, side tables, and a translucent wall-light, each with its own dialogue between solidity and softness. Combined or stand-alone, they create an atmosphere that is at once grounded and ethereal—perfect for both intimate interiors and bold architectural spaces. ________________________________________ Background & Identity: Made in our Athens-based studio, ‘Cutting Corners’ embodies on.entropy’s philosophy of merging heritage craftsmanship with contemporary design & precision engineering. All design components and finishing details become exposed by the meticulous carving of the marble & wood craftsmen, highlighting the tactility of the materials and inviting the users to a sensory experience. This deep connection to heritage ensures that each piece is not only beautiful but made with purpose and care, steeped in the cultural legacy of a material that has shaped the visual language of the Western world, still relevant and always modern. ________________________________________ Why it’s worth the price: ‘Cutting corners’ is carved by travertine carefully selected for purity, texture, and contrast and solid oak. Beyond its material pedigree, Cutting corners is entirely hand-crafted and produced in limited numbers, ensuring exclusivity. In Cutting Corners, marrying natural stone’s permanence with forward-thinking design, these are objects meant to last lifetimes—functional sculptures that define a space. You are not just buying a modern designer dining table table—you are investing in a piece of a millennia-old Greek tradition of stone artistry. ________________________________________ Technical Details: • Material: travertine & solid oak • Function: Sculptural dining table • Custom lengths and finishes available • Available in combinations of white & black marble, travertine & oak • For Ccustom lengths, marble and finishes available contact the seller directly • Made in Athens, Greece
