  • 'Generation' Bronze Sculpture Table by Philip and Kelvin LaVerne, c. 1964 Signed
    By Philip and Kelvin LaVerne
    Located in Los Angeles, CA
This important and documented bronze sculpture table named "Generation" by Philip and Kelvin LaVerne was sculpted circa 1964 and was featured on the cover of “Philip & Kelvin LaVerne: Sculpture III". Its large size allows this to be used as a coffee or cocktail table, console table or display table or can be simply displayed as sculptural fine art. This pièce de résistance for collectors of Philip and Kelvin LaVerne is exceptionally rare and highly coveted. Within one single work of functional fine art the artists explored several different techniques the LaVernes were known to employ. Two heavy cast bronze figures, a boy holding a cat and the opposite side a girl, holding the table top which features a gorgeous torched bronze surface with inlaid colorful enamels, one bearing the LaVernes signature. Another acid washed bronze...

  • 'Butterflies' Dining Table by Piero Fornasetti, circa 1970s Italy, Signed
    By Piero Fornasetti
    Located in Los Angeles, CA
This pièce de résistance collectors item is the 'Farfalle' (translated to 'Butterflies') dining table by Piero Fornasetti, circa 1970s, signed underneath with its original studio label. Table height is a perfect 29.25" for dining but also ideal as a cafe, gaming or center table. Such incredible artistry, this round Fornasetti dining table is made with lithographic transfer and lacquered wood that has a white background with colorful butterfly motif and is affixed via screws to a white tulip styled base. One of my favorite aspects of this table is how some of the butterflies cascade down into the edge of the table giving a 3-dimensional effect. The top has been masterfully re-lacquered in a French Polish and looks so incredible - it looks like a sheet of water is floating above the butterflies because it is so clear, vibrant, glossy and smooth while protecting the artwork underneath for decades to come. The 'Farfalle' aka 'Butterflies' motif is documented in the book "Fornasetti, The Complete Universe". This rare piece is sought after by interior designers and collectors alike. Perfect piece to add a little splash of whimsy and intrigue into your interior decor. Contact us for more details on our collection of Fornasetti lamps, tables, bar carts, mirrors, umbrella stands and more. Photographed with the table are Robert Venturi post-modern 'Queen Anne' chairs for Knoll International and Hans Hopfer for Roche Bobois Mah Jong's in Missoni fabrics along with a Missoni Home rug...

  • Philip and Kelvin LaVerne Unique "Etruscan Spiral Extension Dining Table", 1960s
    By Philip and Kelvin LaVerne
    Located in New York, NY
One-of-a-kind "Etruscan Spiral Extension Dining Table" with extensions the fit on each end in patinated bronze and pewter with hand-painted polychrome enamels and unique pierced bronze bases by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne (signed “Philip Kelvin LaVerne” on side of tabletop with original paper labels on leaves). This table was made specially for Fred and Edith Horowitz, personal friends of the LaVernes. Their initials are incorporated into the bases as part of the design; “EH” on one base and “FH” on the other base. There are rods that come out from inside the table to support the leaves; they lock in place to give the leaves solid support. This table is exceptional in every way and represents the best of the LaVernes’ art and ingenuity. The abstract graphic design on the table top is simply stunning with beautiful coloration. The pattern is continuous from the table top onto the leaves. There is a felt lined wood case which the LaVernes made for the leaves. With the leaves, this table is 112 inches long. Reference: Sculpture II The Art of Philip LaVerne catalog published in the 1970’s, there is a photo on page 15 which shows a smaller model with the title “Page 15 - Estruscan Dining Table”. In the back of the catalog is the description, “Intricacy of interwoven bronze and pewter, hand sculptured to form the arabesques of this subject, combine in a supremely elegant motif. The feeling of an ancient Etruscan coin...
