About the Item
Ornately hand-carved wooden table by world famous Venetian sculptor Valentino Panciera Besarel (1829–1902). Solid wood table with cupid carving in center and Italian style Venetian lions head carvings throughout. Beautiful dark colored wood.
The detail on this table is just out of this World, both sides of the pedestals are heavily carved, the winged lions are stunning and almost life like, the pedestals are attached to a stretcher that is just as amazing, the pedestals gave a carved grove which is where the stretcher slides in, the table has no hardware or nails at all.
The sculptor died in 1902 so this table must date to mid-late 1800s, the original label is still attached to the table which is amazing.
Small chips noted in discreet places. Good condition.
Measurements: 98 3/4" wide x 42" deep x 34" high.
