William Earle
William's first functional sculpture, 'glove box' when shown in a Los Angeles gallery was quickly purchased by producer Joel Silver ( Lethal Weapon, Die Hard, The Matrix ) and installed in his South Carolina home, Auldbrass, the Frank Lloyd Wright masterpiece.
The 'hal' table followed in 2000 and singularly ignited the faceted craze. William was selected to represent Surface magazine at the Salon del Mobile 2004 in Milan. When asked to compare European designers to American by Metropolis magazine in 2006, Cooper - Hewitt National Design Museum curator Ellen Lupton observed that, as American design was more pragmatic and the Europeans more conceptual, William Earle broke the mold by being a minimalist.
In 2008 the artist's 'Nude Descending Table' was commissioned by the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and sold through the museum store.
Covering the launch of the first luxury interior furnishings web site, Gilt Home, in 20011, Forbes likened the solitary artist to international mega brands Missoni, Frette and Stark.
William's New York City showroom commissioned his 'Woodcutter's Chase' to display at the 2012 International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York where the lounge won a 'Best Design of the Year' award from Interior Design magazine. Today the artist's work is seen everywhere, from the camp of Penn, Yale and Harvard, as displays on the floors of Bergdorf Goodman, Macy's and Bloomingdales, in ads for Hugo Boss and Ralph Lauren and the lobby of Trump Tower.

- I - con - ic ; timeless, worthy of veneration ; see 'hal', modern pedestal tableBy William EarleLocated in Columbia, SCThe Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum refers to William as the American Minimalist. Perhaps no other design of his exemplifies Minimalism and Modernism more than his iconic 'hal' pedestal, designed in 2000 and singularly responsible for ushering the faceted craze into contemporary American and European design. With a large glass round, this table is perfect to anchor a beautiful dining room. Choose from the Teak shown, or one of William's other suggested finishes. If none are quite perfect, William is delighted to help you choose from more than a hundred others. The glass top is 63" round and 1/2" thick, and is included in this listing. About William Earle Producer Joel Silver ( Lethal Weapon, Die Hard, The Matrix ) purchased William's first functional design - a case comprised of four separate hexagonal volumes, and immediately shipped it to his South Carolina home, the Frank Lloyd Wright masterpiece 'Auldbrass', for installation. William was selected to represent Surface magazine at the Salone del Mobile Milano 2004. - Bespoke Oval Table, Reclaimed Hardwood with Brass Base, by P. TendercoolBy Pieter Compernol & Stephanie GrusenmeyerLocated in Bangkok, THWe created this table for a San Francisco based interior design firm who specified our reclaimed Makha Tae wood. They asked if we could bleach and oil the top and requested the edge of the table to be very slim and beveled. Another request involved the sand-cast base in solid brass: Since they welcomed an antique finish, an we like authenticity, we suggested not to apply a primer on the brass, so it would “Age with Grace”. Our client LOVED. Bespoke, by P. TendercoolBy Pieter Compernol & Stephanie GrusenmeyerLocated in Bangkok, THWe created this oval table for a client in München, Germany. After hearing about the client's space we suggested this 'Golden Section Oval', a perfect oval within a perfectly proportioned recangle. The client selected reclaimed Golden Teak we salvaged form a heritage house which was torn down on the outskirts of Bangkok. We created the top by joining several boards and bevelled the edges according to our client's instructions after which we applied our signature oil finish. The table is mounted on a pair of PT12 solid sand-cast brass bases, with a brushed finish we call 'Golden Sand'.
