About the Item
Round Wooden Dining Table in English Oak, with screw in legs.
The hand turned legs come separately and simply screw in to the solid table top.
The legs are designed with a unique octagonal shape, with smooth round feet at the bottom. The large screw threads are extremely strong and the three legged design offers great stability.
This round table was inspired by traditional drinking tables commonly seen in English pubs and classic farmhouse furniture, made by village craftsmen.
This table is perfect to seat four people eating at the kitchen table, or six people drinking!
The round table is part of a series of Loose Fit pieces that are designed for disassembly. It can easily be stored or transported by unscrewing the legs, making it more economical to deliver. It does not need any additional screws or fixings to assemble it, and all the parts are made from a single source of timber, keeping waste to a minimum in the production process.
Because it is so easy to move around, it also extends it's life with the customer, who can take it with them to different homes throughout their lifetime.
This piece comes finished with hard wax-oil as standard, but can also be finished with soap wash: a subtle and natural alternative that will age with character.

Loose Fit was started in 2018 by James Torble b.1990 England, with the aim of creating elegant furniture, designed and made to last a lifetime. James has a background in fine art, having studied at Central Saint Martins College, London, before building himself a houseboat and developing a passion for furniture and design in the process. James is a maker fascinated by his craft and the possibilities of wooden furniture. His designs are perfect for now, lovingly joined by hand in English timbers. MATERIALS
Each piece of furniture is made by hand, using locally sourced British hardwoods, such as ‘unwanted trees’ that councils have cut down.
For bespoke projects recycled surface materials can be used in the design, such as formica and marmoleum.
Finishing is offered in natural oils or soap washes, which contain less harmful chemicals than commercial varnishes and polishes (some furniture polishes contain formaldehyde!). DESIGN
At the heart of the design is the desire to make pared back, classic pieces of furniture. Keeping the skills of traditional joinery alive with modern designs and well considered details.
This Round Dining Table comes finished with hard wax-oil as standard, but can also be finished with soap: a subtle and natural alternative that will age with character. Please enquire about customising the table with a traditional soap wash finish.
