About the Item
Solid English Oak Dining Table with wedged mortice and tenon joints on the legs and wiggly feet. Based on traditional construction, with a chunkier and playful twist and colourful pink Formica top.
This table is made from solid timber, intelligent use of joinery pulls the form together in a robust way. The legs are attached knocking the 'keys' through the tenons to lock the pieces together to assemble or disassemble the table.
This is a traditional joinery method that locks the tenon in place and creates a sturdy and durable piece of furniture.
The wiggly feet give the table a playful character and is a modern take on traditional farmhouse tables that can be found in the antique shops in Hastings, where the maker lives and works.
Available with a solid oak top with rounded corners, or with a colourful Formica top and square corners. Please get in touch to select a Formica colour as there are many to choose from.
Dimensions: W 1290mm x D 690mm x H 750mm, finished with Danish oil.

Loose Fit was started in 2018 by James Torble b.1990 England, with the aim of creating elegant furniture, designed and made to last a lifetime. James has a background in fine art, having studied at Central Saint Martins College, London, before building himself a houseboat and developing a passion for furniture and design in the process. James is a maker fascinated by his craft and the possibilities of wooden furniture. His designs are perfect for now, lovingly joined by hand in English timbers. MATERIALS
Each piece of furniture is made by hand, using locally sourced British hardwoods, such as ‘unwanted trees’ that councils have cut down.
For bespoke projects recycled surface materials can be used in the design, such as formica and marmoleum.
Finishing is offered in natural oils or soap washes, which contain less harmful chemicals than commercial varnishes and polishes (some furniture polishes contain formaldehyde!). DESIGN
At the heart of the design is the desire to make pared back, classic pieces of furniture. Keeping the skills of traditional joinery alive with modern designs and well considered details.
Dining Table can be customised with a Formica top of your choice.
Choose a Formica colour to suit your space. Formica comes in many different colours so please get in touch to select a unique colour. Formica is a laminate that is made from sustainably sourced paper.
