Terrazzo with Precious Onyx Stones, Brass Ring and Burned Eucalyptus stand
About the Item
Unique terrazzo with semi precious onyx stones in different sizes and colors. The stones graduate from the center to the edge, at the edge there are only very small stones and at the center are the biggest stones.
This is all held together with a brass ring and a japanese Knott system on two sides of the table.
It's available in sizes that vary from 120 until 200 cm in round, oval and organic shapes.
The stand is made out of different materials like concrete, metal and precious veneer as a finish layer. There are 6 variations of veneer possible. The table stands on a metal plate to protect the veneer when moving the table or cleaning underneath it.
The veneer comes together at two places which forms a very beautiful detail.
It is build to last for a very long time and the tablets are very durable.
The table top is not massive terrazzo which make it lighter, less porous and less breakable. The terrazzo is treated with a special process that crystalizes the air in the terrazzo and makes the cells of the cement at molecular level more than 100% stronger. The table top is polished in the last fase with grain 3500 which gives it a very deep and elegant shine, you can truly look in the stones and explore the beautiful natural colors. Its finished with a stain proof coat and there comes a maintenance product with it.
It's not your every day kind of terrazzo, it has a very different exclusive feeling to it. It looks brutal but at the very same time very elegant and with a lot of finesse. It wil never bore out and fits in every interior because of the subtile natural colors and the pured out silhouette. It does not ask all the attention, but you can not pass it and not see it. When you look at it, you will get drawn to it, and then you can look even closer, and deeper, and you can do that countless times and still see new things that excite you. That's exactly what makes you fall in love with objects. This table has that potential.
The table is called Capricorn , a tabel out of the signature collection by Atelier Raf for Liz tables. It's called that way because the onyx gemstones align with the Capricorn sign.

They are combined with materials like brass, wood, glass, precious gemstones, recycled products and epoxy's.
