A charming Belle Époque period French marquetry drop-leaf sewing stand work table (today, it would make for a wonderful side table, sofa table or hall console, bedside nightstand or accent table) Hand-crafted in France in the late 19th / early 20th century, exceptionally executed in sophisticated Louis 15th taste with nods to Northern Italy marquetry work, elaborately decorated in scrolled foliate fruitwood inlays, gracefully curved serpentine edge over a conforming apron fitted with one dovetailed locking drawer with original key included, above a lower recessed drawer style sliding bin tray, rising elegantly on long cabriole legs. circa 1895 Dimensions: (approx) 28 3/8" High, 23" Wide, 20 5/8" Deep Open/extended: 41.5" Wide *Additional photos available upon request* Condition: Very good antique condition with beautifully aged warm mellow patina. Strong, sturdy, stable, structurally sound. Retaining antique character and charm throughout, typical wear consistent with over 125 years of age and use, including minor scattered nicks, chips, losses and evidence of old fill, nothing that detracts from the aesthetics or functionality but only adds to the sophisticated antique character, elegant rustic warmth and rich historical depth that can only be acquired over long periods of time.
