An elegant antique Louis XV style carved walnut card game table. circa 1790
Born in Continental Europe in the late 18th / early 19th century, exquisitely hand-crafted in sophisticated French Louis 15th taste, featuring a rectangular shaped top with inset hand woven tapestry surface and rounded bentwood corners, over a warm rich solid walnut pegged case with stunning grain detail, fitted with a pair of dovetailed drawers, scalloped apron with hand carved shell motif, gracefully rising on gently curved cabriole legs adorned with acanthus carvings.

As warm and attractive as it is useful, having the ideal size and proportions for a variety of different uses, including as a game table, center table, library table, large side table, place a piece of glass atop the textile art to use as a one-of-a-kind writing desk, or place it in the entry or parlor as a stunning yet unpretentious statement piece!
