19th Century Country French Flip-Top Side Table ~ Game Table
About the Item
19th Century Country French Flip-Top Side Table ~ Game Table is a remarkable example of French ingenuity! Hand-crafted from solid oak, it features a grooved top that is hinged on the back, and designed to swivel 90 degrees whereupon the top can flip open, doubling the size of the table surface! When folded back, it makes an exceptional end table or side table, but when open can be used for entertaining or even games! The framework consists of four aprons carved with shell and cross-hatching on undulating forms trimmed with scrolled molding. The aprons all blend beautifully into the elegant cabriole legs on each corner, carved with shells on the shoulders and escargots on the feet. As beautiful as it is versatile!
