A striking design composed of two separate side tables. Each table has only two legs! This nesting side table set is made from cast blackened and waxed steel. A uniquely designed frame allows a 1 inch thick, cast steel, circular top to balance on two legs. This is the first table designed by J.M. Szymanski and it is a favorite among collectors, interior designers, and architects alike.

Our products are fabricated and finished by hand, so variations in size, shape, and patina color are a natural result of this process. Tooling marks and surface scratches are part of the character of many finished pieces. All products are sealed with oil and wax, which, over time, are not impervious to moisture. Our blackened steel pieces installed outside or in areas exposed to moisture indoors, especially in marine environments, will rust. Condensation from hot and cold drinks will leave rings on blackened steel table tops. Coasters or placemats can protect the finish. Periodic maintenance of blackened steel items may be required.

EACH WORK DEMONSTRATES A FASCINATION WITH SEVERE GEOMETRIES, RAW MATERIALS, AND UNIQUE FORMS. J.M. SZYMANSKI WAS INTRODUCED IN 2014 AND HAS ATTRACTED THE ATTENTION OF TOP ARCHITECTS, INTERIOR DESIGNERS, AND COLLECTORS. J.M. LIVES IN NEW YORK CITY WHERE HE DESIGNS AND FABRICATES HIS WORK. HIS DESIGN EDUCATION BEGAN IN HIS EARLY CHILDHOOD WHERE HE AND HIS FAMILY SPENT SEVERAL YEARS IN NEPAL. LATER, IN HIS EARLY 20’S, HE MOVED TO SPAIN WHERE HE STUDIED THE DESIGNS OF GAUDI, VISITED THE ALHAMBRA, AND MADE FREQUENT TRIPS TO MOROCCO. J.M. RETURNED TO THE USA TO STUDY INTERIOR DESIGN. HE STUDIED AT THE FASHION INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY AND AT THE SCHOOL OF VISUAL ARTS IN NEW YORK CITY. HE WENT ON TO DESIGN FOR WILLIAM SOFIELD AND LATER FOR RICHARD MISHAAN.
