Important Pair French Mid-century Modern Gilt Iron 'Creneaux’ End / Side Tables

About the Item

Elegant and rare pair of French Mid-Century Modern Neoclassical side or end tables in hand gilt wrought iron . The 'Creneaux' tables are classic, modern pieces featuring a geometric, rhythmic pattern with open, slotted spacing providing lightness and transparency. The tops are composed of a thick glass and are inset into the frames providing a seamless appearance. Limestone, travertine or another stone will also work well as tops. Provenance: Galerie Neo Senso, Paris, 1997. Literature: See a similar design in: Jean Royere, Pierre-Martin Emmanuel-Vivier, Editions Norma, Paris, 2002, p. 140-141.
