19th Century Petite Cherrywood Chessboard Table
About the Item
This exquisite French antique cherrywood table, with its square tray and subtly curved cabriole legs, is an ingenious blend of elegance and utility. A useful and very decorative little side table in itself, it has the added appeal of being a functional game piece, its chessboard top beautifully crafted from inlaid marquetry. Beneath the top, a small drawer provides a discreet storage space, perfect for holding chess pieces or other small trinkets. A wonderful example of sophisticated French craftsmanship, it would make a stylish addition to a study, salon or living room.
