This is an antique fold over games table. An English, Rosewood chess and card table, dating to the Regency period, circa 1820. Striking finish will add a touch of élan to games night Displays a desirable aged patina and in very good order Select Rosewood presents superb grain interest and deep caramel hues Dressed with quality emerald green baize and needlepoint tapestry Compact form when folded, with a suite of drawers and a concealed surprise Arranged as a full-width drawer above a deep under drawer, ideal for game pieces Upper drawer dressed with a small brass lock escutcheon and working lock — key present Rotating the folding top through 90 degrees reveals a playing card recess Folding outwards upon brass hinges, the oval baize presents beautifully Hidden chess board located between each drawer with a blind pull Rosewood and satinwood chequers offer an attractive contrast Supported upon elegant stiles terminating with scrolled detail Trestle feet with squat scroll toes, each side united with a club-shaped stretcher This is an elegant antique fold over games table, offering great versatility for a comprehensive games night.
