About the Item
This rare Baroque chess table from Germany, dating to around 1750, combines decorative artistry with timeless functionality. Crafted from solid and veneered walnut, the table showcases the elegance and craftsmanship of the mid-18th century.
The square apron with shaped cutouts includes a single drawer, while the cabriole legs add graceful curves typical of the Baroque period. The top features rounded corners and a molded edge. At the center lies an inlaid chessboard of maple and burlwood, framed by a finely executed banded marquetry border.
The table remains in its original condition with a beautiful patina, making it not only a functional game table but also a striking decorative piece for collectors and interiors alike.
