This Biedermeier flip-top game table from circa 1850 showcases the refined elegance of early 19th-century Central European design. Crafted from softwood with a rich walnut veneer, the piece features a pedestal base with a beautifully curved, tapering profile and a square stepped foot, reflecting the balanced symmetry typical of the Biedermeier aesthetic.
When closed, the rectangular top displays a striking grain pattern in bookmatched walnut. The hinged tabletop unfolds to reveal a vivid red leather playing surface with delicate gold tooling. Inside, two hidden spaces provide discreet storage. This versatile piece functions both as a decorative console and a functional games or writing table.
