Antique arts and crafts chess table. We have sold a few antique chess tables before, but never one from the Dutch Arts and Crafts era and never one as stylish and decorative as this one. The combination of the beautifully designed, tiger oak base and the embossed brass tabletop is of a style and class that is unsurpassed. We were thrilled to find a unique chess table from this era of great designs and exceptional workmanship, but to find it in this amazing condition and with such a marvellous patina, again, felt like a blessing. We hope that the next custodian will play his or her chess matches at this table, but even if you never play (anymore) then having a table like this on display, makes your living space so much more stylish and enjoyable. This table is as stable as the day it was handcrafted and judging from the shape of the chess pieces in our images, we feel that they could be the original ones that were made for this table.
