About the Item
This antique fold-top game table is a charming and functional piece from the early 1800s. It is crafted from beautifully aged fruitwood, displaying a warm, naturally rich patina that only centuries of care can create. The table features a hinged top that smoothly unfolds to reveal a spacious playing surface -- ideal for cards, mahjong, chess or decorative display. When it is closed, it serves as an elegant side or console table, making it a versatile addition to any interior. The table offers both stability and refined simplicity characteristic of early 19th century craftsmanship. Subtle wear consistent with age adds authenticity and character without compromising function. The top appears to have a replaced board through the middle.
