Game table, card play table, folding mechanism, mahogany, 1920 Art Deco, England

About the Item

Very rare gaming table, with a fascinatingly executed folding mechanism. This object was made in England, around 1920, in the Art Deco period. When unfolded, a playing surface appears that is lined with green felt. There are two small drawers, which are transparent, which are wonderfully edged with chrome-colored metal. When the table is unfolded, two hinges with handles are folded down on the underside to ensure stability. On the upper edge is a metal push button to fix the closed state. The scissor mechanism makes the table easy to store because it is very narrow when folded. Measurements approx. in open condition: height 30,51 in - 77,5 cm, width 29,72 in - 75,5 cm, depth 25,59 in - 65 cm in closed condition: height 43,31 in - 110 cm, width 25,59 in - 65 cm, depth 7,28 in - 18,5 cm A very rare, high-quality piece, an original from the Art Deco period, which allows a wonderful play.
