About the Item
A fine companion pair of Louis XVI style gilt-bronze mounted Mahogany and cube parquetry guéridon or bedside tables with Vert Maurin marble tops.
French, circa 1880.
Each guéridon is of oval shape with a pierced gilt-bronze gallery and a Vert Maurin marble-top. Below is a central frieze drawer, centred by finely chiseled gilt bronze mounts of ribbon tied cornucopia, issuing trailing vines and flowers. One guéridon is fitted with a single door fronted by simulated drawers, the other fitted with a galleried undertier.
