A Striking Sheraton Revival Satinwood Work Table, England Circa 1890

About the Item

A very elegant & striking satinwood work table / side table, showing a richly figured 'fiddle grained' oval top inlaid with a crossbanded border and kingwood banding, opening to a crimson velvet lined interior. The banded frieze fitted with a functioning lock mechanism fronted by a diamond shaped escutcheon, raised overall on four crossbanded tapering & squared supports inlaid with ebony stringing, braced by an X frame stretcher. IMPORTANT NOTE: For all interested U.S. & Overseas clients, we are currently in the process of establishing a means to expedite the process of obtaining the necessary CITES export documents required to ship items constructed of satinwood and other exotic materials - whether in part or in whole, to both United States & overseas clients.

    Additions or alterations made to the original: Minor conservation to a small linear separation on the top, both the top & the frieze have been refinished. The interior lining has been replaced, the supports & stretcher have only been re-polished, not refinished. Refinished. Wear consistent with age and use.
