A Very Good Regency Period Egyptian Revival Console Mirror, England Circa 1820

About the Item

A very handsome early 19th century Regency Period cream painted & gilded console mirror. The frame showing an overhanging gilded architectural cornice surmounting a applied gilded anthemion motif, flanked on either side by gilded capitals in the form of sphinx busts, atop elongated leg-shaped gilded columns terminating to feet shaped supports.

    Additions or alterations made to the original: The frame was apparently repainted decades ago, and the gilding was refreshed. Wear consistent with age and use. The later mirrored plate is marred. A new plate would be recommended.
