George II Period Oak Lowboy on Four Angular Cabriole Legs
About the Item
An oak lowboy standing on four angular cabriole legs ending in pointed slipper feet. The three drawers are arranged above an arched shaped apron and all three retain the original brass hardware including backplates engraved with a floral motif. The two side drawers retain their original iron locks and the keyholes are surrounded by a full plate escutcheon above their handles (an unusual feature). The top has a molded edge and several marks and variation in color typical of a piece that has not been recently re-polished. Retaining an outstanding color and patina.
