Rare set of Gothic Revival nesting tables. This finest quality set of tiger oak stacking tables from the 1930s could not be in better condition. Perfectly sliding into and out of each other these striking tables with their warm patina are easy to place in any position you like. This set originates from a monastery in the southeast of the Netherlands and that is an important reason why all three of these tables are in more than excellent condition. We find that the pieces that we acquire from monasteries and churches have always been taken care of with the utmost respect. The hand carved, Gothic trefoil elements in the largest table stand out beautifully and they are like a silent reminder of the Gothic monastery where this set came from. Unfortunately the label with the name brand below the practical drawer (see image 13) has warn off, but it too proves that this quality made and stylish set of three was created by a known and talented maker.
