Josef Hoffmann nesting tables

About the Item

"This set consists of four small tables of different sizes that fit perfectly into each other. They can be separated and used individually if desired. This type of small tables is defined by the term 'nesting tables'. This set of tables was designed in 1906 by the famous Viennese architect and one of the leading figures of avant-garde artistic movements in early 20th-century Vienna, Josef Hoffmann (1870–1956). The tables were produced by the renowned Viennese furniture company Jacob & Josef Kohn, which is confirmed by the original label of this company located on the underside of the smallest table. In the company's 1906 catalog, these tables are illustrated on page 52 as model number 988."
