A Stunning Antique Hand-Crafted 19th Century Carved Museum Walnut Table In The Style of Adam Weisweiler Louis XVI With A Vitruvian Frieze Table is centred on a panelled oblong tablet with small circular triglyphs, on stop-fluted turned tapering legs with squared patera headers and looped stretchers. This smart table is inspired by late 18th Century French designs in particular those of the celebrated ebeniste Adam Weisweiler. Fine decoration such as porcelain has been substituted for carved decoration, producing a satisfactory and respectful revival which may be easier to accommodate in the modern domestic interior than the more courtly elaborate originals.
