Antique French Kidney Shaped Inlaid Side Table Cabinet Chest Sevres Plaque, 1890
About the Item
A very fine antique French Louis XV style inlaid 'kidney' shaped side table or chest, inlaid walnut with a large Sevres style plaque depicting lovers in 18th century dress, circa 1880. The top is inlaid with a large enameled 'Bleu Celeste' Sevres style enamel plaque, framed with a gilded bronze ribbon, then crossbanded with rosewood. Following is a band of walnut 'basketweave' parquetry, finished with another band of rosewood and a gilded bronze gallery. The front having three inlaid drawers with gilded bronze handles and featherbanded with walnut in a lighter shade, the sides having corresponding featherbanded panels, the table raised on cabriole legs with bronze mounts to the feet. Condition is excellent.

A good & substantial antique French Lyonnaise carved walnut Provincial three drawer commode chest, in the Regence style, Lyon, France, circa 1730.
The commode being of serpentine form and having three large drawers, each drawer is carved with Rococo scrolls and shell motifs, the drawers with gilt bronze handles and escutcheons. The commode is raised on short cabriole feet, as is common with these chests from Lyon, they are larger in size and have plenty of drawer space for storage. The drawers run smooth, clean and free from aroma and ready to store clothes or bedding, the chest is in good condition and is ready to grace your home.

A very fine & large pair of 19th century antique French Sevres Porcelain, ormolu and champleve enamel, handpainted ewers, signed "C. Rochette", circa 1890.
Each ewer having a finely cast & gilded bronze rococo handle, each neck is decorated with exquisite champleve enamel. Each ewer having a dark blue porcelain baluster shaped body, with two oval hand-painted reserves each with a courting couple signed "C. Rochette", both reserves are surrounded with lavish gilding & at the base of each painted panel are the Sevres interlaced L's. To the rear are corresponding panels also finely handpainted with landscape scenes, the ewers are raised on champleve socle bases and with onyx plinths below.
Condition of both ewers is excellent, a very beautiful pair of exqusite late 19th century Sevres ewers...
