About the Item

Exclusive limited edition (of two) occasional table custom crafted in the studio workshop of Beyond Gorgeosity, the Nonna table, our own new design created from selected vintage elements, marrying an elegant sinewy Italian solid brass tripod base from a 1947 Arredoluce 'bridge' lamp by Angelo Lelii, with a tapered spindle pedestal stem of polished solid brass supporting a round wheel-ground optical crystal bubble glass Magiscope top salvaged from the former studio of the late Mexican artist, Feliciano Bejar (1920 - 2007) and crowned with polished brass sculptural finial handle from a 1950's Italian magazine stand. BG's Nonna table stands 24-1/2 inches high, 28 inches including the finial. The glass top is 19-1/2 inches diameter and have the engraved signature "Feliciano Bejar '87" and "Feliciano Bejar '87", respectively. Romeo Rega is born in Rome on 10 October 1925, third of six children, born and raised in the Trastevere district, in the heart of Rome. THE FIRST BIG STEPS. He is 27 years old when, in 1957, he enrolls in the Albo provinciale delle imprese artigiane (Provincial Register of Craft Enterprises) and opens his first workshop in Vicolo della Frusta 6, where he collaborates with talented masters of wrought iron and forging. He stays in Vicolo della Frusta until the end of the 1960s, a period in which he dedicated himself to his favorite activity: the design of his own pieces and the relations with people. Among his clients there are personalities from the world of cinema and entertainment, such as Marcello Mastroianni, Renato Rascel and his wife Giuditta Saltarini, Massimo Ranieri...
