C18th Georgian Tripod Kettle Stand Mahogany / Wine Table (Side Occasional Small)
About the Item
A late c.18th, George III period, mahogany tripod kettle stand or wine table. This diminutive kettle stand features a circular solid mahogany dished top. Supported by a part-wrythen turned baluster stem, raised on a tripod of cabriole legs.
A rare, high quality and very attractive kettle stand. Very well presented, serviced, cleaned and waxed and ready for use. Ideal to use as wine table. The wide feet make it extremely stable.
Dimensions:
This kettle stand measures approximately 57.25 cm (22.5") tall, the top is 27.25 cm (10.75") in diameter, and 45.5 cm (18") wide across the feet.
Condition:
Please see the pictures for details of the items condition. - This kettle stand is in good condition, commensurate with its age, and is structurally very sound and sturdy. No loose joints. Old marks and blemishes, in keeping with age and use. A few small minor quality repairs. There is a repaired chip to the dished edge, and a pieced repair. There is a repair to the top of one of the legs. All of which are not obvious or stand out, and all are very well polished in. This kettle stand has not been French polished. The wax polish is very good, there is a warm and pleasing patina, and the colour is very good throughout. Sensitively cleaned and waxed polished. Overall this is a very well presented kettle stand and ready for use. - As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc.
