French 19th Century Louis XVI St. Side Table Attributed To François Linke
About the Item
A beautiful and most elegant French 19th century Louis XVI st. Mahogany, Kingwood, ormolu, and Brocatelle Violette side table attributed to François Linke. The table is raised by circular tapered fluted legs with fine ball and foliate fillet ormolu sabots and mottled top caps with wrap around berried laurel bands. Above each leg is a superb richly chased rosette in a lovely satin and burnished finish flanking impressive finely detailed pierced ormolu plaques of charming bacchanalian cherubs playing horns amidst musical instruments and scrolled foliate vines with grape clusters. Above is the original circular Brocatelle Violette marble top fitted within an elegant mottled wrap around ormolu gallery.
