French 19th Century Napoleon III Period Side Table

About the Item

A magnificent French 19th century Napoleon III period ebony, brass, ormolu and semi precious stone inlaid side table. The table is raised by a tripod base with elegant scrolled ormolu feet with their original casters. The three curved legs center an inverted finial with a fine ormolu band while the circular central column displays decorative scrolled movements and precious stone plaques. The octagonal shaped top displays a brass mottled edge and rounded corners. At the center is a beautiful Lapis Lazuli reserve framed within a bone inlaid border. At the border are striking green and red inlaid semiprecious stones in a most decorative inlaid bone border.
