French 19th Century Transitional Style Kingwood, Boxwood and Ormolu Side Table
About the Item
A most attractive French 19th century Transitional st. kingwood, boxwood and ormolu oval shaped, two drawer side table/chest. The side table is raised by elegant slender cabriole legs with fine foliate ormolu sabots. At the center are two drawers, each decorated with beautiful butterfly veneered kingwood backgrounds framed within boxwood borders and with richly chased circular pulls and elegant foliate keyhole escutcheon. The most decorative curved side and the back are decorated in the same manner. Above is the original oval white Carrara marble fitted top framed within a fine pierced ormolu gallery. All original gilt throughout.
